$18.00-$25.00/hour to start, based on experience/education

This position performs and oversees all service repairs and preventative maintenance on all company field equipment, engines and tools.

Job Summary: This position will assist GM and Install dept in managing warehouse, inventory, mechanical upkeep, light industrial maintenance and occasional assistance with administration.

Job essential roles , responsibilities and activities including but not limited to the following:

Personnel/ Crews:

-Be sure all crews have the needed equipment to do their job. Hand tool, power tools, small engine equipment.

-Report to work at 6:45 am to begin work day and leave no earlier than 3:45 pm, with 1 hour lunch. Extended hours or weekend work may be required.

Equipment/ Shop Duties:

-Will e responsible for all truck, trailers, bobcats, etc. Also, any hand tools or rentals.

-Track and record all oil changes or minor repairs. Major repairs will need to be discussed and approved with department manager..

-Turn in all paperwork for repairs and maintenance.

-Aquire all estimates for major enhancements/ repairs by january 7th of each year for budget considerations

-A vehicle and trailer inspection report is due the 16th of each month.

-Inspect all equipment weekly to be sure its being operated correctly and safely

-Your crews are accountable for the equipment they are issued. If any equipment is lost or turns up missing, they will have to replace it at their expense, at the current market value.

-Organization of shop and grounds.

-Ordering and stocking of materials


Scheduling of crews

-There will be a weekly meeting  with all staff at the crosstimbers location to discuss the upcoming schedules for the next several months. This will be to fill the big picture, push jobs, or to inform all of our backlog or weeks our schedule.


Requirements for this position include:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing & maintaining various types of small gas and diesel engine equipment
  • Possess an appropriate tool set for the position
  • The ability to work independently; self-starter; works well with others
  • Great time management skills
  • At least 3 years of experience working with small engine equipment, and/or vehicles (preferably within the landscape industry)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Verbal and written English communication abilities
  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 100 pounds
