Garden Manager (Landscape Maintenance Supervisor)
McDugald Steele is seeking an experienced Garden Manager (Landscape Maintenance Supervisor) to lead the maintenance and long-term care of high-end residential landscapes in Houston. This role oversees field operations, manages landscape maintenance crews, and ensures each property meets the firm’s standards in horticulture, plant health, and client service.
You will work closely with clients, designers, and internal teams to execute detailed landscape maintenance plans, monitor irrigation and plant performance, and support the long-term success of each garden.
Responsibilities
Manage landscape maintenance operations across multiple high-end residential properties
Lead and supervise landscape maintenance crews
Develop and implement horticultural care and plant health programs
Monitor irrigation systems and seasonal landscape requirements
Communicate directly with clients and provide recommendations
Coordinate with design and construction teams on enhancements
Maintain service records, reports, and maintenance schedules
Ensure job site safety, quality control, and operational standards
Required Qualifications
Experience in landscape maintenance, horticulture, or garden management
Strong knowledge of plant materials and seasonal care practices
Experience managing field teams or crews
Ability to manage multiple properties and schedules
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on high-end residential landscapes
Knowledge of irrigation systems and plant health care practices
Spanish language proficiency is a plus
