We are seeking an experienced in-house Construction Supervisor to lead field operations for our portfolio of high-end residential landscape construction projects. This full-time role is responsible for leading crews, manage daily production, solve jobsite challenges, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the firm's high standards of craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is a motivated field leader who values craftsmanship, teamwork, and the opportunity to help construct some of Houston's most distinguished residential landscapes.
The Opportunity
This position plays a critical leadership role in translating design into built work. The in-house Construction Supervisor works closely with the project landscape architect, project managers, and skilled trades to ensure projects move smoothly from site mobilization through final walkthrough.
McDugald Steele's integrated design-build approach allows Construction Supervisors to work directly with the design team while maintaining clear ownership of jobsite operations, field execution, quality control, and crew leadership. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced construction professionals who are self-starters and natural leaders to take pride in running projects in the field. Key Responsibilities
Lead daily field operations for residential and select commercial landscape construction projects
Supervise and coordinate construction crews and subcontracted specialty trades.
Manage jobsite scheduling, production goals, and daily work assignments.
Read and interpret landscape construction plans, construction details, and specifications.
Coordinate installation of grading, drainage systems, hardscape, planting, irrigation, lighting, and specialty landscape elements.
Maintain the company's high standards of craftsmanship and quality control throughout construction.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work aligns with design intent and company standards.
Coordinate equipment, tools, and material deliveries to maintain project schedules.
Monitor and track project progress in collaboration with project managers.
Identify field conflicts and communicate solutions proactively to the project team.
Enforce jobsite safety protocols and company safety standards.
Coordinate punch-list completion and assist with project closeout and final walkthroughs.
Communicate effectively with landscape architect, designers, builders, clients, inspectors, and consultants.

Qualifications
Landscape construction experience in residential or design-build environments, minimum of 5+ years preferred
Previous experience in landscape construction supervisory, foreman, superintendent, or field leadership role, required
Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods including grading, drainage, planting, irrigation, and hardscape installation.
Ability to read landscape construction plans, construction details, and technical specifications.
Experience managing crews, schedules, and jobsite production.
Strong understanding of jobsite safety standards and best practices.
Excellent communication and team leadership skills
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Houston area.
Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Smartsheet is a plus
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
